Gonna have some fun with ex-players for every ten posts. They will be legendary.

Not using Nick Delves though. Don't want any snotty emails ;)

I went to uni at the turn of the millennium and was reasonably out of touch with the players of that time, so ignorant to the significance of Kenny Howard and Mark Hardcastle - can someone explain please?

They represent the mediocrity that the club had sunk to in those dark days of Southern League South & West obscurity

Even I don't remember them, although I will have been in the dressing room with them!

I was in the same Hucclecote youth sides with Mark for a good few years. Was a very good player who went to one of the Bristol sides (Rovers I think) and then ended up with us. Think he made his debut in a game we lost 7-1 to some crap side. I don't think he stayed for long and think he dropped out of football. His dad Keith was in charge of one of our youth teams (U14s I think) as used to see his name in the programme although no idea if he still does. Another player who was in the same Hucclecote side and played for us was Chris Thompson.

That crap side was Bedworth United....a sign of how low we were as a club then

Rubbish! That was a (Labour) victory compared to Moscow Dynamo 7 - 2 if I remember rightly?

And some people think I go to see this lot to enjoy myself, basketball or Mongolian mud wrestling would be less stressful!

By the way, I have not had my season ticket yet, hope they have not flogged it to some yobs hanging out outside Waddon!

You don't want to know about the other dreams.

It's an avatar anyhow. Anyone can have one ;)

Nah that was that shithouse, can't remember his name, oh yeah, the referee has it written down on a piece of paper in his dressing room.

Matt Aubrey...one of the poorest strikers I've ever seen.

Great news on several fronts (at last), regarding the future of City recently which should be treated with (cautious) optimism, but why on this new forum are there avatars of lads who played nearly 20 years ago? Back in my day there would be pics of Cucumber Lil from Coney Hill & Barton Street Brenda but hey-ho, I suppose we have to move with the times.

Was ok when Burnsy stuck him in defence for his last couple of games mind you. Bizarre situation that.

Rod Brown?

Rod Brown?

Hard to remember when he only played 2 games!

Neil

He was a big signing, played professional football in Scotland.

We had Chris Townsend and then we had Rod Brown and Jeff Meacham up front!

Eric Van Der Floof
08-07-17, 10:05 PM
And when Meacham couldn't score he was converted into an excellent left back by Brian Godfrey

Eric Van Der Floof

Alan Knott....a distinguished 4 game career with 10 goals conceded in that time. At least we got a top class replacement for him in Michael Oakes who was up there as one of the best keepers I have seen
